Tony Armstrong Is The Owner Of Muskoka Land Stewards.
Tony has a long history of involvement in the forest industry in central Ontario.
The Armstrong family has been working in the Ontario woods since Tony’s Great Great Grandfather James Armstrong received his free land grant in Macaulay township in 1869.
Now nearly 150 years later Tony is still working with nature in central Ontario to keep the future bright for his family and all others who have come to call this area theirs.
Tony learned to work with nature with his Grandfather, George, and Father, Ed. Both of whom operated the family horse logging, and maple syrup business.
Tony went on to study Forestry at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Lindsay, Ontario. Tony graduated 1984 with a Forestry Technician diploma.
With this technical and practical experience, Tony started work with Bracebridge Ministry of Natural Resources in the Timber Department. Most of his time there was spent with private landowners and their concerns through the Woodlot Improvement Agreement Program.
From this history, forestry companies called on Tony to work for them, where he spent 10 years supervising and managing their harvesting and private land management divisions.
In 2002 Muskoka Land Stewards was born. Now many years and experiences later, Tony leads a dynamic company offering many services to private and public landowners. It is through these services that Tony helps them manage their forests to be the best they can be from all points of view including recreation, aesthetics, financially and for the wildlife.
